Convert / Watch Mac AVI Files On Apple TV Mp4 | Apple Mac
Posted by ShaunI’ve been so busy lately with work I’ve not had the time to get my LG, Apple TV and Apple Mac Book Pro playing nice together.
More specifically, I’ve got all my music synched and playing great, but getting all my movies in a format I could store and watch without problem on the Apple TV wasn’t as easy as I first thought. I had all my files stored on my Apple Mac which the Apple TV could not read.
- What format does Apple TV use? MP4
- What format were my films in? AVI
So using Isquint for Mac I managed to quickly and effortlessly convert AVI files to MP4 and optimised for TV. Once the conversion was complete, it automatically added my new Apple TV compatible MP4 file to Itunes, which then synched with my Apple TV.
I think it took about 15-20 minutes on my MacBook Pro to convert a typical 800Mb AVI file and 5-10 minutes to stream to the Apple TV. Download the AVI to MP4 Converter.
Sorted, and found a fast, great Apple Mac Tool for converting AVI to MP4.
PS - It also converts and optimizes movies for the Ipod! ![]()
