If 5 + 6 make eleven, the optimal keyword density is 6.3%. If two tomatoes and one cucumber make 56, the optimal keyword density is 42. What am I on about?

Fuck knows but it reminds me of Keyword Density. What is the optimal keyword density for your web page? Exactly what is the % of keywords to normal text allowed on a page to get to Number 1 in Google?

I don’t think there is one. Who says there is one gold standard accross all sites. There could be a million, all dependent on the factors that came before in the serp calculation. A floating point. For you to hit the magic density, you’d basically need to tick all the other boxes in the Google Magic Rank Calculation before density came into it - are we supposed to believe there is a % to aim for? So, this would mean it would not be a static target to aim for, as every site is different, and would start from a different starting point, and end with a different final optimal density to aim for. I hope somebody gets what I mean.

  • Say a site had 1000 links to it and ticked 5 other boxes. The keyword density would be 2%.
  • Say a site had 10000 links to it and ticked 53 other boxes. The keyword density would be 0.2%
  • etc etc different all the time.

I think Keyword Density is shite. Put it in your title, get links to it with it in the anchor text, add it in the text a couple of times. Get your site trusted. You’ll rank for it.

Test. Test. Test.

The next time an seo company tells you they’re working out your keyword density and leading you believe they are mathematical geniuses tell them they are on BBC WatchDog and watch that face drain of colour.

I don’t give a fuck about Keyword Density and I get to the top. All you need to do is write naturally and make sure your keyword is in there once or twice. If you have good links and a good title, you’ll rank. Oh, and bold your term.

I don’t think Google is as smart as people think it is but I don’t for a minute think it would give keyword density much weight in any calculation, any weight would be minimal comapred to the weight of more important factors.
As usual don’t take this to the bank. How the fuck would I know anyway? All I’m saying is that I don’t think about keyword density. If it’s natural, it’s optimal.

OK, maybe add it once more ;)
