The time has come. After reading a blog or two I’ve decided to start chasing the pounds on my blog. Not on every page, at the moment, as I think those homepage ads suck (you know, the kind of ads you see everywhere).

I can’t remember how many times I’ve seen (or not seen) the ads on Sphinn, for example, and Search Engine Land, to name another, and 100% ignored them. Of course, those sites have the very qualified traffic to justify such advertising but I am, I suppose, ‘in’ that community,and I am not a buyer - not what they are selling anyway.

But I thought I’d try out a few anyway. I’ve already experimented with Google Adsense (isn’t that where everybody starts?) and I will certainly keep them on some pages. It amounts to a very residual income.

But where possible, I intend to monetize various posts. My new Gadgets category, listing my new gadgets like my LG TV or Nokia N95 for instance, will be monitized with Adsense and AuctionAds. I’ll see how it goes.

This is actually an experiment like most of this blog when I am not mouthing off about something. I’ve got an idea for a few sites, and a few posts like this will help me test penetration in Google serps, for one. If I make money with the blog, I’ll speed up the development of these sites.
