Why i am beginning to hate SEOMOZ & Sitepoint…
Posted by ShaunzoI can’t take it any more! At first I thought SEOMoz’s was pretty, and Sitepoint’s clever, but after seeing it for the fucking umteenth time I wish I could hack my way in there and remove those fucking pop up/under adverts (on sitepoint at least!)!
On Sitepoint a few moments ago I think 2 keystrokes caused 3 pop ups. Fuck off! If I wanted a free this and that I would fucking search Google for it (well, delicious, actually).
EDIT - I can’t believe it. Seeing as I am ranting I thought I would download the fucking thing to see what the fuck all the fuss was about. Had to give my email of course. It better not suck (and at least that blocks the ads for this session!)
For supposed expert (seo) site building guides, haven’t they ever heard of Jakob Nielson?
…and I though SEOChat was bad (still love the tools though!).
Sitepoint (I think if I see another advert for Web CEO I’ll fucking burst) is off my menu - I cannot stand those ads. SEOMoz, well that page strength tool while fun just seems to be getting more fucking useless by the day (for non premium members at least) but at least the pop-ups seem to be intelligent in some way (or switched off now and again). Some great articles which keep me dodging those pop ups - for now.
Maybe that’s why I like visiting Jim Boykin, Andy Beard, GrayWolf or angielski
You kinda know what to expect over there.
Rant…..OVER!

I really hate pop up adverts. IE is much worse than Firefox. I had my first pop up this morning on Firefox (I use adblock). Very surprising.
Glad to see you deciphering some of the SEO baloney. How many blogs on SEO does the world need?

“How many blogs on SEO does the world need?”
That’s a great point. How I am I going to make this blog stand out?
“deciphering some of the SEO baloney”.
I’ll try my best!
PS - I don’t use IE for nuthin’ - apart from checking what my site(s) look like in it! it truly is a piece of shite.
Granted, it’s getting a bit better. But would they have even bothered if Firefox didn’t come along?

Sitepoint is doing my head in also. It could be worse I’ve seen some forums starting to charge $100 a month to view them and branding them as ‘private forums’ god knows what sort of info you can get in there but for this money it had beeter be the golden egg.

I just never pay to get into most forums (in fact none). Sometimes your better off scouring the net for free stuff.
