The good thing about having a lot of subscribers on the Hobo Web site is we get a lot of traffic without advertising. The downside is I can’t use my blog as a testing tool as much any more. The speed at which Google now indexes ‘trusted content’ sites makes you crazy not to be pumping out keyword rich articles targeting your customers, so I often just throw up an article to test how competitive a keyword might be and if there’s any qualified traffic there that likes the cut of my jib. I’m about to effectively take a break from blogging. The inordinate time I seem to ‘waste’ blogging (’cause I am a bit obsessive) and reading quality sites like Sphinn, Search Engine Land and SEOMoz, constantly learning SEM (keeping up?) when I should be ‘doing’, will be changing a bit in 2008.

I can’t be bothered turning my blog into a ‘he said this’ so ‘here’s my take’ blog or a top ten blogeramma tips carnival. It takes a lot of time for me to think up the posts I want to write, and more and more I see ‘dumbed down’ posts like this post about ‘The SEO Bloggers First Posts On Their Blogs‘ (currently being Stumbled and possibly about to go hot on Sphinn) trump more thoughtful (and so ignored) posts like my thoughts on ‘SEO Theory & Hot Sites‘ (whether that’s bollocks or not).

So I’m taking a break for a while (after one last article) and just concentrating on my clients work for a few weeks. No more blogging. No more SEO competitions. I’m not pissed off, just tired of the whole blogging game. I like it, I’ve just not got the time I want to devote to it.

I’m sitting here with my new ‘Apple TV’ I bought myself for my xmas to integrate proudly with my Plasma TV , Itunes & my amazing Mac Book Pro. I thought about a new IPOD, or Iphone, but decided I wanted the ability to watch my movies while still use my computer and surf the net. My 3rd gen IPOD is still going strong after all these years, and my Nokia N95 is everything I need in a phone at the moment. Apple TV it was, then. (more…)
